This fuel tank was built for a customer of Derek’s Mini Centre of Willenhall. They were completely rebuilding a classic mini which is used to tour Europe. The customer wanted a larger tank to allow him to go further off the beaten track but as you can imagine space is extremely crucial. The solution was to squeeze the tank inside the rear sub frame and to cut out and slightly raise the boot floor. The bottom of the tank has a double skin heat shielded channel to allow the exhaust to pass through. Seeing the rest of the car, we were astounded by the quality of their workmanship. This project will be a real one off when completed.
